American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS), related to American Baptist Churches USA, is a nonprofit mission organization founded nearly 200 years ago that provides support resources to support local churches, develop American Baptist leaders and disciples, and implement ministries that help those in need across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

We rebuilt the ABHMS website with a completely responsive design and streamlined the site information architecture and features.

Our Role:

The new ABHMS website was developed to target a wide variety of audiences and provide each with information and ways to engage with the organization to make an impact in their communities. We collaborated with the ABHMS communications team and AD Lubow to develop the information architecture for the site and ensure that the site taxonomy and user paths achieved ABHMS’s engagement objectives including providing information and downloadable resources, encouraging volunteering, and soliciting donations.

The site design is completely responsive, providing the same content and user experience regardless of a user’s desktop or mobile device. We implemented WordPress as the CMS platform for ABHMS staff to have full control over managing the site content. We also set up WordPress plugins for administering graphical carousels, creating contact forms, and managing files and documents.
